Interview with Ron Brown about AeroClave’s Impact on Wellness

Interview with Ron Brown about AeroClave’s Impact on Wellness

Here is a brief overview of the interview between David Leichner, CMO at Cybellum and founder of AeroClave, a company specializing in decontamination systems.

Dr. Brown’s journey began in Massachusetts, where he developed an interest in science and engineering. Pursuing his passion, he worked as an EMT while attending Florida Technical University and later attended medical school at USF’s Morsani College of Medicine.

A pivotal moment in Dr. Brown’s career occurred when he needed an aircraft for testing decontamination technology. With the help of connections made during his tenure as EMS Medical Director for Seminole County, he managed to secure a test plane just in time. This experience, among others, he describes as “God moments,” where he felt guided by a higher power.

Dr. Brown attributes much of his success to his wife’s unwavering support, particularly during the risky early days of starting AeroClave. He also emphasizes the importance of not being part of the problem, but part of the solution, a lesson ingrained by his mother.

His success, he believes, is rooted in three key traits: his faith, his desire to help others, and loyalty. As a practicing Catholic, his faith provided guidance during tough times. His passion for helping others, ingrained during his medical career, directed his professional focus. Loyalty, especially to his company and colleagues, has been a cornerstone of his business philosophy.

AeroClave was inspired by the need for effective decontamination during the SARS epidemic in 2003. Recognizing the lack of solutions for decontaminating high-traffic areas like airports and hospitals, Dr. Brown, alongside scientists and engineers, developed a method to decontaminate planes without prolonged downtime.

Their technology, AeroClave systems, uses Vital Oxide, a non-toxic, environmentally friendly disinfectant. Their RDS 3110 model, a portable decontamination device, exemplifies their innovation, capable of neutralizing hazardous substances efficiently.

Dr. Brown’s inspiration came from his admiration for emergency medical staff and their challenging work environment. Despite financial struggles and a personal health scare, his determination to contribute positively to society never wavered.

Looking ahead, Dr. Brown sees his technology playing a crucial role in managing transmissible diseases, as evidenced during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he cautions against over-reliance on any single decontamination solution, advocating for comprehensive hygiene programs.

Dr. Brown’s advice for creating impactful technology includes determination, education, perseverance, vision, and curiosity. He encourages young people to become agents of change for a better world.

Expressing a wish to meet Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, Dr. Brown seeks to gain insights into future challenges and effective business management. He concludes by inviting readers to follow AeroClave on LinkedIn, sharing his enthusiasm for continued success in his field.
